Luan Vrzizoli, of Fairfield Avenue, died Friday, May 3, following the crash around 11:08 a.m., Thursday, May 2, said Stamford police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.

Police are investigating to find out if Vrzizoli, who was driving a 2003 Hyundai four-door sedan, crashed into the wall at the end of Shippan Point, due to a medical issue or mechanical failure, said Officer Thomas Drain.

Police said speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Because of the way the car was positioned, it took Stamford firefighters and EMS awhile to remove it from the wall and remove Vrzizoli from the vehicle, police said.

Drain said he died sometime overnight.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
